Of course I wasn’t going to be able to hold it in, and Joel talked me into spilling. I’ve been asked how I did it, so here goes:
I came out and moved his computer away and sat on his lap and nuzzled him. Then I told him I didn’t go to the fabric store like I told him. “Oh?” He asked. “Where did you go?”
“To get blood stolen away,” I told him, holding out my sweater-sleeve-covered arm.
“They stole my blood.”
Silence. I think it was dawning on him here.
“I heard back.” Yes, I was going to make him drag it out of me.
“What did they say?”
I waited a few seconds, trying to decide what words to use. “Well, I’m not crying, am I?”
Three seconds of being stunned, then tight hugs. Even though we suspected (suspicion times 14!!), he’s still stunned and in a state of shock. 🙂
